“We keep the neighborhood clean”

Culture is super important at We Got This. Culture is the tool we use to build a stronger community one kid at a time. Each week the young people at We Got This leave the garden with 5 gallon buckets and trash pickers and clean up the neighborhood. Together, that group of kids picked up over 10,000 gallons of trash (2,000 5 gallon buckets worth) this summer. Every once in a while a kid will participate in the clean up and still make the choice to litter. This happened on the last Saturday of the summer program. Instead of an adult having to correct the behavior, other kids did it. “We don’t do that here”, someone mentioned and “we keep the neighborhood clean” another kid told him.

This Giving Tuesday, we are asking for your financial support to keep the culture building work going at We Got This. We Got This is a volunteer run organization which means our overhead is low and nearly 100% of your donation goes directly to kids as payment for the work they do on Saturdays in the summer. Each $20 donation gives one kid the paid experience of working on making their neighborhood a better place to grow up in.
